Types of movements

There are 3 types of movements in Money:

🟢Incomes

money entering an account

increases the account balance. increases the total business balance.

🔴Expenses

money leaving an account

reduces the account balance. reduces the total business balance

⚪️ Transfers between accounts

money moving from one account to another.

reduces the balance of the account that sends. increases the balance of the account that receives. does not change the total business balance.

Movement states

A movement can be:

🏴PENDING

these are movements you have registered but have not yet truly impacted the account.

they ARE counted in reports and subtotals of Categories

they DO NOT change the account balance

DONE

normal movement, impacted the account at the time it was made.

they ARE counted in reports and subtotals of Categories

they DO change the account balance

✅RECONCILED

movements that were pending, done at one time, but impacted the account later.

they ARE counted in reports and subtotals of Categories

they DO change the account balance from the date they were reconciled.

Reports

Money calculates monthly subtotals of all Categories.

You can choose the “report month” for each movement if you want to include it in the report (eg: participatory administration closing) of another month.

Example: A student pays tuition for one month in a different month.

The “report month” is also considered in Plans to determine which month a payment corresponds to.
